“I don’t believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now”….oh the 90’s. Seriously though when this project was done my heart was full. I knew I wanted a gallery wall somewhere in our new house I just wasn’t sure where. After long consideration I decided on the stairwell since its commonly a forgotten area for decor in the home.
Building a gallery wall can go one of two ways. The first way is to go out and buy frames and other signs you want to hang up in one big lot, which can be costly. The second way and the way I went about it is to collect frames or items until you have enough to start a foundation. I picked up frames here and there at garage sales or antique stores for a few months. My patients with this really paid off because I only spent $30 on this project.
Before hanging anything up I laid all the frames out exactly how I wanted them to look on the wall. I then had Dan hang them for me, or should I say he almost hung me! Once we started hanging a few I changed my mind a little on how I wanted it to look. Ha typical woman I know! Also Dan was given an old tool box by his childhood neighbor that had old nails in it, so we used them to hang the empty frames and the small plaque. I know you can’t see them in the picture, but it really gave the wall the added rustic touch I was looking for. As you can see though I left room for the wall to grow if I want to add to it. However, right now I love the way it looks and have no intention of doing anything more to it.
-I hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday!!
